The Presbytery Project
John McMillan has joined with several Presbyterian churches from the North Hills of PIttsburgh to support domestic missions. In February 2015 a group of members travelled to Oklahoma to support the efforts of Samaritan’s Purse in rebuilding a home for a family whose home was destroyed by a tornado in 2013. They had a wonderful experience and JMPC hopes to participate in future missions.
Money is collected in the Narthex coin box for the purpose of supporting various ministries. We feature a different ministry every two months. Watch for announcements about the mission for the month in the bulletins, the Interface or on our Church Home Page.
During spring and fall, each church member is encouraged to donate two cents for every meal they eat. Funds are given to help feed hungry people locally and globally through the Two-Cents-a-Meal Program.
Donations to Heifer International – Living Gift Market
provide livestock to poor families around the globe. Every year, the Kids Klub & Trailblazer Youth Groups host a Family Dinner and collect donations for the purchase of livestock which is donated to families in need. Watch for Announcements of participation on our Church Home Page.
JMPC also sponsors an alternative gift-giving livestock as Christmas gifts. A table is set up in the narthex so you can make your gift selection during December.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crises and catastrophic events.
